Carol A. Crookes Obituary
We announce the death of Carol A. Crookes of Newport, Rhode Island, who passed away on August 5, 2026, at the age of 82. Carol will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Malcolm Gifford and Beatrice Gifford (Lebeau); her husband Dennis Michael Crookes; and her sister Nancy Lou Gifford. She is survived by: her children, Denise Bergman (Jeffrey Bergman) of Mashpee, MA, Dennis Crookes Jr. of Los Angeles, CA and Jennifer Crookes Wood (Michael Wood) of Newport, RI.; her grandchildren, Jacob Wood (Jenny Wood) of Warwick, RI, Alexandra Whitmore (Jeremiah Whitmore) of Fayetteville, NC, Madison Wood of Newport, RI, Zoe Karavolis Pan (Gilbert Pan) of Phoenix, AZ and Nicholas Karavolis of Rehoboth, MA; her great grandchildren, Weston, Brooks, Ellie Whitmore of Fayetteville, NC and Lyla Wood of Warwick, RI.; and her sister Judy Gauvin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
