He was predeceased by : his parents, Jay L. Thurman and Ethel Thurman (Cash); his wife Virgina Thurman (Ponsetti); and his brother Donald Thurman (Juanita Thurman). He is survived by : his children, Mitchell Thurman (Michele), Dawn Thurman (Tom Mockler), Russell Thurman and Lorna Cook (Jay); and his grandchildren, Brittany Thurman, Mason Michalski, Camden Cook and Caleigh Cook. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
