With solemn reverence, we commemorate John M. Curran of Newport, Rhode Island, whose life came to an end on June 22, 2025 at the age of 91, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Curran and Irene Curran (Shea). He is survived by: his wife Grace Downey; his children, Coleen Curran, Michael Curran (Melissa) and Sean Curran; his granddaughters, Rebecca Curran Elkins, Katherine Curran, Sarah Curran and Alison Curran; and his close friend Cliff Brownell.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home (465 Spring St, Newport, RI 02840). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Augustin's Church (5 Harrison Ave, Newport, RI 02840).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the Rogers High School Athletic Dept. c/o David Chandler Award, 15 Wickham Road, Newport, RI 02840.
