We announce the death of Judith C. Leys (Newport, Rhode Island), who passed away on June 27, 2026, at the age of 96. Judith will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Felix Foster Cowey and Edith Cowey (Hoyle); her husband David Leys (Bud); her brothers, Foster and Ross Cowey; and her son David P. Leys, Jr..
She is survived by: her sister Ellen Ewens; her children, Ellen, Beth Leys, Kevin (Midge), Paul (Mardie Corcoran), Andrew (Susan) and John; her grandchildren, Max Kaplan, Bowen Leys (Mary Kate), Ryan Leys, Annie Leys, Luke Leys (Rachel Clair), Liam Leys, Mac Leys, Jane Leys, Mary Leys, Shauna Danna (Mike), Brianne Banasiak (Matt), Maggie Leys, Jack Leys, Caleb Leys and Noah Leys; and her great grandchildren, Brayden Danna, Leif Leys and Maxine Leys.
