We announce the death of Maria S. Johnson of Newport, Rhode Island, who passed away on September 26, 2026, at the age of 73. Maria will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Maria will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Maria’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her husband Jim Johnson; and her parents, Rose T. Napoli and Armando J. Napoli. She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth; her son-in-law Karl Magner; her granddaughter Caroline of Warren, RI.; and her siblings, Anne Smeglin (Anthony), Stephen Napoli (Mary Ann), Joseph Napoli (Michaela) and Elizabeth McCaffery (Kevin). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (42 Spring St, Windsor Locks, CT 06096).
