He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph R. Battey and Helen M. Battey (Fogarty); and his brother J. Robert Battey. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn W. Battey (Chapman); his children, Brent D. Battey, Michael C. Battey and Elizabeth W. Battey; and his siblings, Mark Battey and Joan Ainscough. He is also survived by two nieces and five nephews.
