She was predeceased by: her husband Edward A. Melvin, Sr.; her parents, Kenneth A. Smith and Ethel M. Smith; and her siblings, William, Kenneth, Richard, Frederick Smith and Marion Vickers.
She is survived by: her children, Edward A. Melvin, Jr., Rickie A. Melvin, Jamie A. Melvin and McKayla A. Melvin; her grandchildren, Madisyn, Edward, Milana, Evan and Jamie, Jr.; and her siblings, Roy Smith, Mary Creighton, Daniel Smith, Kathleen Garneau and Leonard Smith. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
