He was predeceased by: his wife Lucille Dunbar (Derosier); his parents, William E. Dunbar Sr. and Cora Dunbar (Poudrier); his children, Billie S. Berube and Gregory Dunbar; and his brother Steven Dunbar.

He is survived by: his sister Lynda Caldarone (Dunbar). He is also survived by 13 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren.
