She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband David Tavares Rego; her parents, Manuel Souza and Isabel Gaspar; her children, Naomi Buckley (John), Eulalia Maria DaGraca (Napoleon), Louis Rego, Alda Hernandez (James), Clarisse Wood (Robert), Margaret and Susie; her grandchildren, Chico, David, James Jr. (Emily), Naomi (Jose), Jaime (Abner), Sean, Aubrey, Jeremy (Nicole), Amber, Brianna, Amara, Anthony, George, Trevor (Amanda), Quinn, Sabrina and Oliver; her siblings, Mariazinha, Guiomar and Susanna; her cousins, Clarisse Smethurst of Bermuda, Margarida Manuel of Canada and Margarida Cabral of Somerset, MA; and her siblings, Manuel, Matilde and Suzette. She was also cherished by 20 great grandchildren, friends and family.
The family requests that people make donations in support of American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in lieu of sending flowers.
