She is survived by: her children, John A. Monteiro and Susan Filion; her grandchildren, Mason, Madison, Ysmael and Jose; and her sisters, Cape Verde and Isaura Camilo of North Dartmouth. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
