He was predeceased by: his parents, Silverio Carlos and Julia Fortes (Nobre); and his wife Maria Fortes (Lopes). He is survived by: his daughters, Maria Fortes, Julia Fortes, Carolina Burgo and Lucilia Fortes; and his grandchildren, Adeniza, Jalissa, Cassandra, Emanuel, Roniza, Epifanio, Mekeila, Ivandro and Nekeila. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
