He was predeceased by: his spouse Eduardina Costa (Terra); and his parents, Jose DeCosta and Maria Gabriella DeCosta (Andrade). He is survived by: his sons, Rui Rafael Costa of Funchal, Madeira and Duarte Nuno Barros Costa of Funchal, Madeira; his siblings, Antonio Costa of Cumberland, Luis Costa of Cumberland, Duarte Costa (Teresa) of Pawtucket, Rafael Costa of Cumberland and Eusebio Costa of Scituate; his nieces, Ana Costa Bissonnette of Pawtucket, Sue Rodrigues of Cumberland and Michele Alexion of Douglas, MA; and his nephew Carlos Costa of Douglas, MA..
