He was predeceased by: his wife Mary C. Fonseca (Burgess); and his parents, Diamante Fonseca and Maria Fonseca (Cunha). He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara E. Quarto (Guy) and Beverly Mortimer (Edward); and his grandchildren, Renee Livsey, Beverly Jolly and Belinda Tortorella. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
