He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Willis Carter and Betty Jo Bell Carter. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Harrington Carter; his children, Travis Carter (Eileen) of Hebron, CT, Kurtis Carter, Alexis Behr (Chris) of St. Louis, MO and Davis Carter; his granddaughters, Olivia, Sienna, Violet and Daisy; and his sister Darla Trimble (Bill) of Marana, AZ. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews, and their children.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bryant University Machtley Interfaith Center (1150 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mathewson Street United Methodist Church (134 Mathewson St, Providence, RI 02903). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Swan Point Cemetery (585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, RI 02906). Together, Gregg and Lisa advocated for social reform and change, including ending the homelessness pandemic in Rhode Island.
Funeral arrangements are by Olson & Parent Funeral Home; expressions of sympathy may be left at olsonparent.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mathewson Street United Methodist Church, or to a charity of one's choosing that serves the life and legacy of Gregg.
