It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harvey Snyder (Providence, Rhode Island), born in Fall River, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 24, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his brother David Snyder of Hollywood, Florida.. He is survived by: his wife Dorothea; his daughters, Ellen and Julie; and his sister Audrey Rifkin of Jacksonville, Florida..

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brown-RISD Hillel Foundation.

“We met on a camping trip in 1964 and instantly fell in love with Harvey, Dottie, Julie (Ellen was in camp), and Dottie's mother. Harvey was the man in charge and quickly had the steaks on the grill and invited us to join them for cocktails. We intended to go our separate.ways but stayed with them for a few more days. Our homes were a distance away from each other but we kept in touch and got to appreciate who Harvey was, his energy, his intellect, his friendliness and his lust for life.”
