He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Capaldi (Bishop); his parents, Gaetano Capaldi and Pasqualina Capaldi (Moutouri); his brother Nicholas Capaldi; and his daughter Karen Marie Manzo (late Roy).

He is survived by: his sisters, Alice Johnson and Claire King; his sons, Robert I. Capaldi (Catherine) and Kenneth H. Capaldi (Denise); his grandchildren, Christopher Capaldi, Maria Capaldi, Nicole Mitchell, Michael Capaldi and Marissa Manzo; and his great grandchildren, Hazel, Noah Capaldi, Laila, Kilei Mitchell, Angelina and Gino Capellan.
