She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Barton and Leila Barton (Nadeau); her sister Deborah Scarpaci (Barton); and her daughter Kimberley A. Schor (Governo). She is survived by: her children, David M. Governo (Tina Governo) of Wabun, MA and Meg Governo of Cranston, RI; her grandchildren, Sarah Allar, Benjamin Allar (Katie McGrail), Greta Del Bonis and Margot Del Bonis; and her nephew Marc Scarpaci.
