He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Nancy Phillips (Williams); his parents, Melvin Phillips, Sr. and Pauline Phillips (McDowell); his children, Mishele Lee Carvalho (Phillips) and Kenneth Joseph Phillips; and his grandchildren, Alexandra Mishele Carvalho "Pa', Kenneth Josiah Phillips "Pa' and Melvin Phillips, Jr. (Patricia). He was also cherished by his sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, many friends.
