He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Aurea Luciano; his wife Carmen Villanueva Arias; his siblings, Marco Luciano and Justina Luciano; and his children, Lemuel "Lemy" Maldonado, Juan "Papo" Maldonado, Francisco Delgado, Carmen Maldonado and Jenny M. Maldonado-Nelson. He was also cherished by 20 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
