She was predeceased by: her parents, Freeman Searle and Mary Searle of West Greenwich, RI.. She is survived by: her husband David Underwood; her sons, Gordon, Greg (Patricia) and Glenn (Faith); her grandchildren, Timon, Ryan (Sofija) and Logan (Michelle); her great grandchild Theo; and her sister Mary Ann Brunette.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Lois to the Greene Public Library Association or the First Christian Church of Rice City or the Appalachian Mountain Club.
