She was predeceased by: her son Otis DeCosta; her granddaughter Naomi DeCosta; her mother Nora Townsend Speaks; her sister Jeanette Speaks; and her nephew Joseph Speaks (Joey).
She is survived by: her daughters, Ann MarieDeCosta (Larry DeCristofaro) and Monique DeCosta-Ellis (Albert Jett); and her great grandchild Jaiden Melendez.
