She was predeceased by: her husband Manuel J. Soares; her parents, Joao Matias and Maria Clara Matias (DaSilva); and her brother Renato Matias. She is survived by: her children, Francisco "Frank" Soares (Cynthia), Martha M. Brassil (Kevin), Suzette M. Soares-Cook and Manuel J. Soares, Jr. (Laurie); her grandchildren, Joshua, Timothy, Thomas, Nicholas, Faith, Olivia, Samantha and Manuel, III; her great grandchildren, Evan and Benjamin; and her sibling Ervalina Matias Pacheco.
