Though Orquidea may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Orquidea touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Efren Hidalgo; and her siblings, Elida Menendez and Vitalia Pons of Miami, Florida.. She is survived by: her son Efren Hidalgo of South Kingstown; her granddaughters, Ella Cathryn and Abigail Grace Hidalgo of South Kingstown, RI.; her niece Ana Esquivel; her great-nieces, Ana Luisa Fernandez and Carolina Esquivel; and her friend Marisa Angilletta of Brighton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Orquidea Hidalgo may be made to the Centro Cultural Cubano, West Roxbury.
