He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Tomlins and Frieda Just; his wife Marie G. Tomlins (Coppinger) of Teresa's Church; his daughter Leah; his siblings, Shirley McGrath (Edward), Ken Tomlins (Bertha) and Ronald Tomlins; and his brother-in-law Douglas Kyzer.

He is survived by: his children, Marisa Tomlins, Stacey DiLorenzo and Richard Tomlins, II (Joan); his granddaughter Emma Tomlins; his sister Gail Kyzer; and his sister-in-law Barbara Tomlins. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
