He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Marie Fairbanks (McMahon); his parents, Charles Emmett and Agnes Marie Fairbanks (Sullivan); and his brother William Fairbanks. He is survived by: his son Robert E. Fairbanks, Jr. of Providence; and his siblings, Thomas Fairbanks, Charles Fairbanks, Ursula Paradis and Claire Whitehead. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
