Balestra (Pompeii); his sons, Stefan and Michael Balestra; his mother Marie Balestra (Manzo); his sisters, Maria Bessette (Bill) and Sandra Lorea (John); his mother-in-law Caroline E. Pompeii (Coletta); his brother-in-law John A. Pompeii Jr. (Justin D. Burley); his nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Matthew, Andrew, Erin, Brianna and Nicholas; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Madelyn, Vivian, Isabella and Marko.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephen's memory can be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
