He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Leonard Shenfield and Cicely Shine. He is survived by: his spouse Ai Hoa Han; his children, Kian Xie (Jennifer) of Uxbridge, MA and Meili Shenfield of Providence; his sister Rosemary Kemp (Robert); and his nephews, Aaron (Julia) and Matthew Kemp.
Through this work, Stephen wanted Girshfeld's contribution to ending the Cold War to be preserved in the historical record.
