He was predeceased by: his parents, José Amaral and Silvana Amaral (Estrela); and his siblings, João Amaral, Manuel Amaral, Fatima Cabral and Maria José Sodoma.
He is survived by: his wife Maria Gloria Amaral (Estrela); his children, Sandy Dowell of North Providence, RI and Michael Amaral of Providence, RI; his grandchildren, Nicholas Dowell, Jenna Amaral, Christopher Dowell, Jasmine Amaral, Silvana Amaral and Michael Pescarino; and his siblings, José Domingos of East Providence, Guilherme Amaral of Azores, Maria Estrela Lopes of Azores and Maria Lurdes Lima of Canada. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Perry-McStay Funeral Home (2555 Pawtucket Ave, East Providence, RI 02914). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 8:45 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Rosary Church (21 Traverse St, Providence, RI 02903).
