He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Paolo and Dorothy V. Paolo (Taylor Rickel); his stepbrother Thomas E. Rickel; and his brother-in-law Mark Corino. He is survived by: his caregiver Chitadelia Smietana; his siblings, Joseph P. Paolo (Angela) of Seekonk and Debra McDonald (Campbell "Don") of Rehoboth; his nephew Joseph A. Paolo; his friends, Paul Geragosian, Mike Lange and Lewis Medeiros; Connie Smietana.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Rebello Funeral Home (901 Broadway, East Providence, RI 02914). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Our Lady of Loreto Church (346 Waterman Ave, East Providence, RI 02914). A burial will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery (550 Wampanoag Trl, Riverside, RI 02915).
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Gary's name to his favorite charity, for which he received a certificate of recognition for 39 years of outstanding support: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
