He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Rimmler (Grissom); his parents, Ludwig J. Rimmler and Josefine Rimmler; and his siblings, Ludwig and Mary.

He is survived by: his nephew Ernie Grissom (Susan Card); and his great-niece Jessica Grissom (Nick Izzi). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Legion Post 19 or to HopeHealth Hospice and Palliative Care.
