Charles Vartabedian Obituary

Charles "Jimmie" Vartabedian, 79, passed away on April 8, 2026. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Charles and Rose (Baronian) Vartabedian.

Jimmie was a graduate of Central High School in Providence. During the 1970s and 1980s, he proudly worked alongside his parents in the family restaurant business at Charlie's Place in Narragansett. Later in life, Jimmie was employed at the University of Rhode Island's Bay Campus for twenty five years, where he worked as a Copy Center Technician until his retirement.

In recent years, Jimmie resided at the Greenwood Center in Warwick, where he formed many meaningful friendships and was well liked by staff and residents alike.

He was an avid New England sports fan and rarely missed a game. He especially enjoyed cheering on the Patriots, Celtics, and Red Sox. Some of his fondest memories were the time spent with his daughter at the family restaurant.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Christine Marasco and her husband Joseph Marasco of North Providence, and his cherished granddaughter, Marissa Angelica.

Funeral services will be respectfully private.
