He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Vincent Fay and Virginia E. Fay (Wood). He is survived by: his wife Diane Paul-Fay (Gillespie); his daughters, Shannon Ewing (Andrew) and Stephanie Bell (Jeffrey); his grandchildren, Charlotte Ewing and Wyatt Bell; his former wife Jean Fay; his stepsons, Robert Paul and Christopher Paul; his siblings, Mark Fay (Ellen), Christopher Fay, Moira Fay and Kara Fay; and his pets, Sadie and Nala. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
