Jean Mende Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Mende (Smithfield, Rhode Island), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 31, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband I. Donald Mende; her parents, Russell K. Borders and Charlotte Borders (Wood); her children, Wendy Mosely (Tommie) of Teaneck, NJ, Donna Jean Lang of Johnston, Timothy D. Mende of Aubry, TX and Donald I. Mende of Crossville, TN.; and her siblings, Joan Garcia, Thomas Borders, David Borders and Janice Borders. She was also cherished by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Philip Church (622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean's memory to St. Philip School, 618 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828, would be appreciated.
