We are sad to announce that on October 18, 2023, at the age of 93, Virginia A. Vassett of Smithfield, Rhode Island, born in Providence, Rhode Island passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Virginia A. Vassett to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her husband Daniel J. Vassett; her parents, Wilfred E. Matthews and Edith M. Matthews (Lannon); and also Raymond E. Ford. She is survived by : her children, Jane Gingerella (George) of Westerly, Susan Buffery (late Christopher) of North Providence and Michael Ford (James Stuart-Riley) of Fountain Valley, CA.; her stepdaughter Kathleen Girouard (Robert) of Green Valley, AZ.; her sister Carolyn Callahan of Westerly; and her grandchildren, Melanie Hartley and Derek Slater. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828, will be appreciated.
