She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Gardner and Cynthia Gardner (Thresher); and her brother Eugene Gardner. She is survived by: her husband Richard Heines Jr.; her children, Richard F. Heines (Karen) and Bethany S. Escolas (Matthew); her grandchildren, Cady Ring, Sara Holland (Michael) and Ryan Heines (Carli); her brothers, Roger Gardner and Ralph Gardner (Donna); and her sister-in-law Marilyn Gardner. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's memory to Rhode Island College, supporting future educators.
