It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marie VanCala of Tiverton, Rhode Island, who passed away on July 25, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter VanCala and Marie VanCala (Fisher); her son Keith Fernandes; her brother Walter VanCala; and also Edward Fernandes.
She is survived by: her son Kenneth (Genna) of Tiverton; her sisters, Catherine Rego of Fall River, Cheryl DeMota of Florida and Heidi Shafer of Taunton; and her grandchildren, Noah, Capitolina, Charlotte, Matthew, Luke, Emma and Holden. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hathaway Home For Funerals (1813 Robeson St, Fall River, MA 02720). A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at the Notre Dame Cemetery (1540 Stafford Rd, Fall River, MA 02721).
