Catherine Loretta Daniele Obituary
Catherine L. Daniele (86) of Wakefield, Rhode Island and formerly of Pleasantville NY passed away peacefully Thursday December 7th 2023.
She was born on October 10, 1937 in Astoria Queens, NY to William and Kathryn McGurrin.
She married the love of her life, Leonard Daniele in October of 1958 and was married for over 60 years. They co-owned Daniele's Auto Body shop from 1987 in Pleasantville through 2007.
She was raised in Scranton, PA and graduated from Technical High school in 1955 with High honors and competed in volleyball, basketball and was voted best dancer in her class.
She started her career at Readers Digest in 1962 as a keypunch operator and retired in 1996 as Director of employee benefits.
She was a member of the Green Hill Beach Club in Rhode Island and participated in golf, bocce, cards. She was an exceptional seamstress who made some of her own clothes and draperies. She had a love for her many dogs, skiing, RV'ing, puzzles, and her Sudoku books. She was known locally for her favorite drink was the Rusty Nail.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Leonard Daniele of Pleasantville, NY. They were married in Holy Innocents Church, Pleasantville in October 1958. She is survived by her brother, Robert McGurrin of Woodstock , England and Gary Czekalski of Hop Bottom, PA. and many nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends are invited to Beecher Flooks Funeral Home on Monday December 11, 2023 4 – 8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home on Tuesday December 12 at 10AM. An entombment will immediately follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
