He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Murdocco and Rose Murdocco (Variano). He is survived by: his wife Sandra Haines-Murdocco; his adoptive children, James J. Murdocco, Jr. and Gailyn Murdocco; and his brother Pasquale Murdocco. He is also survived by four grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
