In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Joyce leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Joyce may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her brother Philip; and her parents, Louis Leonard and Dora Leonard. She is survived by: her husband Richard J. "Jet" Vertz; her children, Jennifer Vertz of Sebastopol and Jason Vertz of Seattle, Washington.; her siblings, Judith and Pete; her daughter-in-law Brenna; and her brother-in-law Gary.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Peace Dale Congregational Church (261 Columbia St, Peace Dale, RI 02879).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joyce's memory may be made to Peace Dale Congregational Church.
