He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Atkinson and Theresa (Davey); and his brother Kenneth Atkinson. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Anne (Renehan); his sons, Derek (Chika), Mark and Josh (Emily); his grandchildren, Liam, Leila, Benjamin and Daniel; and his siblings, David, Theresa and Debora.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home (88 Columbia St, Wakefield, RI 02879). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (114 High St, Wakefield, RI 02879). The military honors was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 at the Ri Veterans Cemetery (301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822).
