He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo McAloon and Agnes McAloon; and his siblings, Leo "Skip" McAloon II, Terrance McAloon and Sheila Lemoi (Meredith Hazard McAloon).
He is survived by: his sister Nancy Murphy; his daughters, Kerrie McAloon (late Rob Weintraub), Shannon Merkler (Bill), Meredith Barber (Robert) and Kathleen McAloon; and his grandchildren, Brendan, Megan, Erin, Ryan Merkler and Olivia Barber.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home (88 Columbia St, Wakefield, RI 02879). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. Andrews Church (23 Chapel St, New Shoreham, RI 02807).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Block Island Rescue Squad.
