He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Monize and Amelia Monize (Avila); his son John Monize, II; and his siblings, Joseph Monize, Al Monize, James Berard, Evelyn Carvarlho, Helen Bradshaw, Shirley Barretto and Barbara Sagarsee.
He is survived by: his stepson William Miranda; his grandchildren, John Monize, III and Alexis Monize; his great grandchild Jackson Monize; his sister Elaine Carvara (Jesse); his former wife Barbara Monize; and his son Robert Monize.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Perry-McStay Funeral Home (2555 Pawtucket Ave, East Providence, RI 02914). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Brendan Church (60 Turner Ave, Riverside, RI 02915).
