He was predeceased by: his parents, Honore A. Lachance and Evangeline Lachance (Pelletier); and his siblings, Richard Lachance and Beatrice Dion. He is survived by: his wife Diane A. Lachance (Levesque); his children, Philip R. Lachance (Diana), Bryan O. Lachance (Audrey), Karen B. Kenneally and Ellen D. Andreason (Alan); his grandchildren, James, Sara, Kathryn, Zachary, Brandon, Eric, Evan, Shirley, Kaitlin, Ryan, Kayleigh and Jeremy; his great grandchildren, Milo, Theodore and Gwendolyn; and his siblings, Daniel Lachance and Jeannette Surprenant. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
