He is survived by: his children, Lauren Phelps of Danielson, Connecticut, Alexis Coons of East Providence and Camryn Coons of Cranston; his siblings, Sara Scott (late Alan) of Cheyenne Wyoming, Thaddeus Coons (Lynn) of Warwick and Nathan Coons of Warwick; his grandchildren, Brandon and Ellie; his nephews, David and Andrew; his niece Hannah; and his father Thaddeus.
