As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Jo-Ellen may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She is survived by: her husband Paul J. Paterno; her children, Lucy, Rosie and Vincenzo Paterno; her parents, Michael Murgo and Ellen "Bonnie" Murgo; and her siblings, Tara Payne (Murgo), Marc Murgo and Michael Murgo. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home (1328 Warwick Ave, Warwick, RI 02888). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, August 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paul Church (One St. Paul Place, Cranston, RI 02905).
