He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Wheeler and Gertrude Wheeler (Reese); his brother Edward Alger (Sylvanus); his granddaughter Maria Grace Gyra; and his great grandchild Suzanna Hope DiMasi.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Wheeler (Downs); his daughters, Jeanne Gyra of Warwick, RI, Jackie Wheeler of Warwick, RI and Carolyn Kelly (Christopher) of Farmington, CT; his grandchildren, Dacia Banda (Brian), Brianne DiMasi (Samuel), Michaela Chetty (Sanjeeva), John Gyra, Jessica Gilman, Maximilian Gilman and Regan Kelly; his great grandchildren, Julia, Noah, Jacob, Olivia Banda, William, Catherine, James, Emma, Jude DiMasi and Bodhi Chetty; and his sister Ann Tinaro. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
