We are sad to announce that on October 10, 2025, at the age of 68, John M. Thornton (Warwick, Rhode Island) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond E. and Mary R. Thornton (Trudell); and his daughter Melissa Cardoza. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his children, Jason Thornton, Daniel Thornton (Jackie) and Jonie Thornton (Tyler Leonard); his stepchildren, Heather Sylvester and Todd Sylvester (Michelle); his siblings, Michael Thornton, Jeanne Browning (John), Susan Palmer, Christine Thornton, Lisa Thornton and Colleen Harvey (John); his grandchildren, Jason, Lauren, Roman, Brianna, Treyton Kyli (Brianna Shook), Sawyer, Sophie and Penelope; his great grandchildren, Oliver and Wrigley; and his son-in-law Brian Cardoza.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel (2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick, RI 02889). The military honors was held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home (2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick, RI 02889).
