He was predeceased by: his wife Estelle Nelson (Dinagen); his parents, Raymond Nelson and Sarah Nelson (Boyle); his son Kenneth Nelson; and his brother Ronald Nelson.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Mattio, Kim Maddalena and Kirk Nelson; his grandchildren, Keri (Brent), Justin, Jared (Haley), Briel (Mike) and Brittney (Juan); his great grandchildren, Jaydon and Nyomi; and his sister Rhoda Kwasniewski.
