He is survived by : his wife Maryann Johnston; his mother Doris E. Hawes (Derouin); his children, Jarrah J. Rison and Sabrina A. Johnston (Berrik Woods); his grandchildren, Louis, Brayden and Enzo; his siblings, Donald Hawes (Yesenia), Kimberly Wegrzyn (Richard) and Michelle Messier (Jacob); and his sister-in-law Cathy Serydynski-Hawes.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home (2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick, RI 02889). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
