He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonel Leander and Mary Leander (Moniz); and his siblings, Amy Desmarais, Cecilia "Millie" Lee and Daniel Leander, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Madeline S. Leander (Mello); his sons, David A. Leander (Allyson Reagan) and Kevin C. Leander (Manuel Diaz); and his grandson Sam Leander.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Prata-Gallogly Funeral Home (78 Providence St, West Warwick, RI 02893). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony Church (1 Sunset Ave, West Warwick, RI 02893). A burial will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 11:15 AM at the St. Mary Cemetery (70 Church St, West Warwick, RI 02893).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Anthony Church, 10 Sunset Avenue, West Warwick, RI 02893.
